The Baby Jogger will never disappoint parents who prioritize quality!

As one of them, I will always seek strollers that check off every criterion on my list and not settle for a compromise!

As this is one of the top-rated strollers on Amazon, I knew I was making the right choice, so I will help you do the same!

This Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 model is perfect for parents who are always on the go and need reliable wheels and a sturdy design that can handle every given situation.

Let's get started!

Quick Summary

The everyday stroller by Baby Jogger is best for parents who look for easy maneuverability and all-terrain wheels.

Your kid will love the spacious seat while the footrest keeps them comfortable, and an extendable canopy allows them proper shade range!

1. Maneuverability: 5/5

It's excellent for everyday walks as it is an all-terrain stroller. In addition, it features forever air-filled tires you will never have to inflate again.

2. Foldability: 5/5

The GT 2 stroller includes a one-hand fold that is easy to use and folds the stroller in seconds. An absolute must-have for parents in a rush

The Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 is an excellent upgraded version of the previous model with a terrific price point.

It's best for parents looking for an all-terrain stroller they can use in the city and the country area.

The GT2 wheels are one of the unique features of this design as they will offer excellent maneuverability to help you navigate better.

What's New With the City Mini GT2?

Since 2012, the Baby Jogger City Mini GT stroller has gone through quite the makeover!

You may wonder what kind since the two models we will be comparing are pretty similar to one another.

However, the upgrade lies in the minor changes and additions that make a big difference!

I do have to put a little disclaimer before we go any further.

Don't let the name fool you! This is not a suitable stroller for running or jogging!

If you are interested in an actual jogging stroller, then check out our article linked here

The predecessor, Baby Jogger City Mini 2, is not so suitable for parents of all sizes.

Unlike the City Mini GT2 model, it does not have an adjustable handlebar which can be a massive downside for some.

However, note that even the GT2 model's handlebar does not extend in length; it only has adjustable angles.

Hopefully, they will upgrade this feature as well in the future.

Canopies may look the same, but they could not be more different!

Although they both feature a three-panel canopy, the design of the Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 is slightly better.

Instead of velcro peek-a-boo windows, it features a magnetic fold.

Some of you may find this unnecessary to begin with, but as my kiddo is a light sleeper, I need every possible feature to be as quiet as possible.

Ripping that velcro window on the previous model was frustrating for some parents with the same issue as mine.

Next up, the previous version is lighter as it weighs only 18 pounds! So if you can't maneuver heavyweight, I suggest you pick out the 2019 version instead!

On the other hand, it does have a slightly lower weight limit capacity of only 50 lbs, while the GT2 model supports up to 65 lbs!

One of the crucial additions that sets them apart is the wheels!

Both have fantastic wheel suspension systems, but the 2019 model has a four-wheel design while the upgraded version has only three.

In addition, the GT 2 stroller is designed with "forever air tires" that will take any rough terrain, while the previous version is better for a smooth ride on a flat surface.

Who Can Use the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 Stroller?

The Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 stroller includes excellent weight capacity!

With the stroller seat only, your baby can use this stroller at six months with proper head support.

However, you can also use the stroller if you purchase an additional carrycot that is sold separately.

As I purchased this stroller for my infant, it's only fair to give you my honest opinion about the bassinet.

It's nicely padded with a removable, machine-washable insert which is perfect for those messy feeding times.

Additionally, I did not have to buy additional car seat adapters as they already included one.

Oh, and the bassinet is super lightweight with a compact design, so I even used it for overnight sleeping during one of our trips.

The seat has a 65 lbs weight capacity and offers a deep recline in an almost flat position. I cannot stress how many times this came in handy when I needed to change the baby's diaper!

In addition, this is incredibly convenient if you plan a trip to the amusement part or any other adventure trip where you cannot find a bathroom in a jiff.

General Features You Should Know About

Taking this stroller for its first stroll was a true pleasure.

I saw how well-built the stroller is right then and there, while the attention to detail blew me away!

This is not my first time testing out an all-terrain stroller, but the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 has got to be the best one yet!

So it's time I give you a sneak peek into some of the best features the City Mini GT 2 includes!

1. Foldability

If you love compact and easy-to-fold strollers, you will adore the City Mini GT 2 stroller! Almost all Baby Jogger strollers have a compact fold, but this one impressed me.

This deluxe pram is folded one hand by pulling the strap located on the seating area.

As you pull it, the stroller folds by itself in a matter of seconds!

This was convenient for me when I was in a rush trying to catch an Uber or packing the stroller in my car.

While we are on that note, this is probably not the best option for a smaller car trunk.

However, if you have a small vehicle but still need a durable, all-terrain stroller, this is an excellent alternative - gb Pockit+ All-Terrain.

2. Seating Options

Your little one will love the seat recline on the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2!

By using the strap mechanism, you can recline the seat to an almost entirely flat position so your kid can nap and enjoy the ride.

However, the lack of a fully flat infant seat is why this Baby Jogger is unsuitable for infants.

The City Mini GT seat includes a five-point harness that will keep the child protected during the ride. Plus, the harness does not need to be rethreaded once your baby gets older.

Ultimate comfort is guaranteed with the adjustable leg rest!

This is the only stroller for the Baby Jogger City Mini line that offers this feature, so that was a pleasant surprise.

3. Canopy

While living in the sunny areas, I learned that getting a stroller with a quality canopy is my best decision. Such is the case with this Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 stroller!

It has a pop-out sun visor with UPF 50 sun protection, so it's perfect if your child does not want to wear sunglasses.

The canopy is thick like the seat fabric but still offers proper air circulation with the vented seat top.

4. Wheels & Brakes

As I mentioned, the wheels are probably one of the unique features this Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 stroller has to offer!

The front-wheel suspension is fantastic when you go over rough terrain.

In addition, this Baby Jogger stroller includes an 8.5'' wheel design that is filled with dense foam instead of air.

Therefore, you will not ever have to inflate them as they are "forever-air tires."

I found that this lightweight stroller performs super smoothly on every single terrain.

So far, I have tested the Baby Jogger GT 2 on snow, grass, sand, and unpaved sidewalks, and it steered like a dream!

As far as the brake system goes, the compact pram does not include a foot-operated parking brake.

Instead, the hand brake is located on the right side of the stroller, so there is no chance of accidentally locking the stroller by kicking the foot brake.

However, I did have to take my time getting used to the hand brake.

For me, it would be much easier to have a foot-operated one as I am already used to one in my previous everyday stroller.

5. Travel System Compatibility

With the purchase, you will be getting a car seat adapter for the City Go infant car seats you can easily attach to your new stroller and create a desirable travel system.

Here are some of the other infant car seats you can use with the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 stroller:

- B-Safe 35, Britax B-Safe, BOB B-Safe, and B-Safe 35 Elite (needs car seat adapters)

- Chicco KeyFit & KeyFit30, KeyFit30 Zip, and Fit2 (needs car seat adapters)

- UPPAbaby Mesa

- Maxi-Cosi Mico 30

- Graco Snug Ride, Click Connect (30, 35 35 LX)

- Peg Perego

6. Storage

Multitasking has become a daily routine for me, so I often do all of my shopping while taking my kid for a stroll.

For this reason, I needed a stroller for a spacious storage basket where I could fit all of my necessities and baby gear!

I was stunned when I saw that this Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 stroller could fit a huge diaper bag with no problem!

Most of the strollers I tested out before could barely hold in a few bottles, a change of clothes, and a mini diaper bag.

Even if they did, the basket would sag to the ground, which was a huge disappointment!

Luckily, this is not the issue with the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 stroller.

The basket is incredibly sturdy and stays in shape, but you have to be careful about not passing the weight limit.

However, the basket is not always that easy to get access to.

I had to practice a couple of times and find my way around the system, so you might have to do the same if planning on carrying a bunch of baby gear.

7. Available Accessories

I plead guilty to purchasing every single one of these accessories.

As much as it ended up being a pricy purchase, every single one of these Baby Jogger products was worth it!

So let's take a peek at what is sold separately for your Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2.

a. Universal Parent Console

This little addition came in handy so many times!

Sure, the stroller includes a few mesh pockets where you can sneak a phone or keys, but I prefer to have my necessities at reach.

In addition, the parent console comes with a cup holder so you can enjoy your coffee-to-go on your walk!

b. Glider Board

I wanted to use this stroller from infancy to toddlers, so getting a glider board was a must!

I still haven't had the chance to try it out, but momma's online comment says that it endures cracked pavement, gravel, grass, and sand and is very well-built!

c. Belly Bar

The belly bar is designed with padded and soft materials, and it can be further adjusted. I love to attach a few toys, and it keeps the little one entertained and occupied during the walk.

NOTE

You can also purchase the snack tray, but it is not compatible with the GT 2 model. But, if you have the previous Baby Jogger City Mini stroller, it will do just fine.

Alternatives to Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2

1. Thule Spring Stroller

Source: ubuy.vn

The Thule Spring stroller and Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 are often compared to one another as they are pretty similar in design.

But do they function the same? Let's find out.

Both of them are a three-wheeled all-terrain design with a super-quick fold, so that is a big plus!

Also, the price range is similar, so you will be spending less than $50 more if you decide on a Thule stroller.

However, the all-wheel suspension is where Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 stroller truly shines, while Thule has only front-wheel suspension.

Therefore, City Mini GT 2 is slightly better for bumpy roads and rougher terrain.

On the other hand, the Thule Spring has more accessible access to the storage basket!

As this is one of the most significant weaknesses of the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2, it's great to know there is a similar alternative that offers better storage access.

2. Mountain Buggy Terrain Premium Jogging Stroller

Did you like the three-wheeled all-terrain design of the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 model but were disappointed when you found out it's not suitable for jogging?

Then this Mountain Buggy stroller will amaze you!

It's a fantastic stroller used for long off-road strolls and is suitable for jogging and running.

The front wheel is lockable, so it will be safer once you go over rougher terrain. The seat is nicely padded so that it will result in a comfy ride for your toddler.

Also, it can be used at any age and is suitable for a newborn baby as it has a proper flat position when fully reclined.

Just like the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2, it has peek-a-boo windows, so you can always check on your little one.

What Needs Improving in the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2?

baby jogger city mini gt bassinet review

Source: ubuy.vn

Even though the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 is an excellent stroller, it's not all sunshine and rainbows!

Some of the features need improving, and they can potentially make or break your purchase decision!

One of the features I noticed was different is the storage basket design!

Don't get me wrong, the capacity and endurance are excellent, but boy, that bar sure can be annoying!

If you have a bigger bag forget about storing it in this stroller as the bar in front of the basket will block the access. You can fit a lot of stuff in there but getting them is an issue!

As I mentioned, I managed to get my way around the bar, but if you feel like you would struggle with it, I suggest you choose one of the alternative strollers I listed.

Other than that, the handlebar could use a bit of adjusting.

I wish it were extendable instead of just having adjustable handlebar angles. However, the stroller itself is tall, so you won't have trouble reaching it.

This is not so much of a downside as it is a personal preference, but the choice of the brake bothers me!

I am used to foot brakes in strollers, and the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 has a hand brake. Like me, you will have to take your time and get used to this system.

Why Did I Choose This Stroller?

I needed something reliable for those bumpy roads in my neighborhood. In addition, I knew the daily route I was taking required a particular all-terrain stroller.

With Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2, I got everything I asked for! It's compact, narrow for shopping aisles and doorways, and the wheels are simply outstanding!

It was also nice to know I could add car seats I already owned so I didn't have to splurge on buying one! The car seat compatibility is excellent, so I'm sure you will find your best pick there.

As this stroller is well-built and sturdy, I honestly expect it to be heavy and difficult to manage.

Luckily, the stroller weight is only 21 pounds and is super maneuverable for everyday use!

Although there are a few features I would like to alter, it's an excellent stroller for this price range and performance.

What is the difference between Baby Jogger City 2 and GT2 Mini?

The Baby Jogger City Mini GT is an upgraded version of the City 2 model.

While the previous model has a 50 lbs weight capacity, the GT 2 can support kids up to 65 lbs.

The main difference lies in wheels, as the City 2 model has a double front wheel design while the GT 2 includes a single wheel but includes "forever air" tires that will never require inflating!

In addition, the City Mini 2 stroller is lighter than the upgraded version by 4 pounds.

What is the difference between City Mini GT and GT2?

With the City Mini GT 2, you will receive a free car seat adapter you can use for the City GO infant car seat, while the City Mini GT does not include one.

The upgraded model also has better car seat compatibility and all-wheel suspension, while the predecessor only has a front suspension.

Final Words

And there you have it; this was my Baby Jogger City Mini GT reviews. I hope you all enjoyed it!

You will be amazed if you choose this one for your daily rides as it offers a smooth ride on all surfaces, plus the suspension will amaze you!

The kid will love the spacious seat and the wide canopy, which offers them shade.

The buggy's one-hand fold is excellent for parents who prioritize convenience, while the value for money is a deal you cannot miss out on!
