Currently, there are 3 versions of the YOYO2 stroller.

Based on your lifestyle needs and your kid's age, get to choose among three stylish versions!

1. Babyzen Yoyo2 Stroller With a Complete Newborn Pack

This one is perfect if you just came home from the hospital and you are looking for a primary stroller you can use with the infant.

It's lightweight, so this is the perfect model if you are recovering from a C-section.

It comes with the stroller frame, 0+ newborn pack, and a 6+ Color pack. It's customizable and designed to grow with your little one.

As soon as they outgrow the 0+ pack, you can easily switch the textile to the 6+ color pack.

In addition, the kids can enjoy the multi-recline options on the backrest.

2. Babyzen Yoyo 2 Stroller With A 6+ Color Pack

3. Babyzen Yoyo 2 Stroller With Bassinet

Lastly, we have one of the newest releases from Babyzen.

It includes a comfortable baby bassinet that your baby can use for approximately six months.

Although it may seem similar to the newborn pack, it's pretty different.

You can take out the bassinet and use it on its own while the newborn pack cannot be detached.

This model will suit you best for overnight sleepovers.

Babyzen Yoyo in a Nutshell

After its initial launch in 2012, parents worldwide have become big fans of the Babyzen stroller!

The brand founders wanted to make the ultimate travel stroller you can take everywhere!

It was the first revolutionary umbrella stroller with easy fold and small compact dimensions.

Upon arrival, Babyzen Yoyo was firstly meant for urban parents and their busy lifestyles.

Boy, did they succeed in delivering just that!

It's the perfect stroller if you often find your hands busy with the baby or the diaper bag or grocery bag!

You can fold the Babyzen Yoyo and enjoy its practical features with one hand.

In 2020, the brand welcomed the new Babyzen Yoyo 2 model and a line of Babyzen Yoyo accessories!

To create a unique stroller for your travels, you can purchase the Yoyo bag, cup holder, rain cover, Yoyo piggy backboard, footmuff, and many more.

Now, let's talk about what this stroller has to offer!

1. Color Choices

Lastly, I would like to mention all the lovely color choices Babyzen Yoyo offers!

The stroller is available in two colors, black and white frame for starters.

From there, you can customize the bassinet, newborn pack, and even the 6+ pack!

Yoyo offers up to 9 color options! Yes, you read that correctly!

You don't have to compromise between a stylish or functional stroller as now you can have both!

So mix and match and let your baby daughter or boy ride in style!

2. Maneuverability

The Babyzen Yoyo is a good stroller if you use it on even sidewalks.

However, if you live in the countryside, I suggest picking a different stroller.

The good news is that it has four all-suspension wheels with shock absorption. The bad news, it does not perform well on uneven terrain!

You will feel it going a bit shaky and unstable.

However, considering most umbrella strollers are not fitted for rough terrain, I can't blame the Yoyo stroller.

Oh, and you should know it also features a toe-tap break on the back wheels.

Other than that, walking it on city streets is a breeze!

It rolls like a suitcase, so it's easy to make turns.

It's effortless to maneuver, and it has a narrow wheelbase which is perfect for grocery shopping!

Maneuvering it with one hand is possible and helpful for mommas with busy hands.

The travel stroller comes with a faux leather handlebar. However, I do have one complaint.

The handlebar is not adjustable in height or position. This may present a problem to taller parents.

You can also attach a buggy board to the stroller, but surprisingly it does not make it difficult to maneuver.

Of course, you will need to get used to the heavier weight, but other than that, there is not much of a difference.

3. Comfort

In this Babyzen yoyo review, we focused on the model, which offers the 6+ color pack, so it's fitted for babies over six months.

However, since it came out, many parents doubted its comfort.

I am here to tell you there is nothing to be concerned about! The 6+ is a padded seat with delicate seat fabrics that are not irritating the baby's skin.

In addition, it comes with a 5-point harness that secures the tiny traveler in the front.

However, what makes this stroller seat truly comfortable is the free recline! The backrest can be reclined with a strap on the back.

The only problem many parents and I experienced is that the seat always reclines, even in the upright position.

It does not hold smaller toddlers that well if you want them fully upright, but it does support them nicely. But then again, I experienced this with many other expensive strollers.

The seat is a total of 43 cm in length, so it is a bit short.

Grocery Shopping With Babyzen Yoyo

Since we are on the topic of maneuverability, I tested out the Babyzen Yoyo for my regular grocery store visits, and here is what I think.

It's lightweight is a big plus!

Once you add the baby weight and the shopping bag weight, most strollers will leave you catching breath as soon as you leave the store.

But that's not the case with this stroller!

It's highly maneuverable, so it will be easy to steer even when you add additional weight to it.

However, it comes with a catch.

The storage basket can carry only up to 5 kgs of weight, and it's pretty tiny. Well, not that small as it is close to the top seat, so you can't fit too much stuff in there.

If I plan on doing light shopping for the day, this is my go-to stroller.

But, I would advise you to leave it home for weekly shopping.

Also, don't try to outsmart the stroller and attach the shopping bag to the handlebar. It's a reasonably lightweight stroller it may tip behind.

Folding The Babyzen Yoyo

is the babyzen yoyo good for everyday

Source: Youtube

If it weren't for the folding mechanism, this travel stroller would not get the hype it's getting the past two years.

However, like many other strollers, it may take quite a while to get a hand at the folding system so let's see how you can do it quicker.

You need to push the sun canopy back and fold it, for starters. Next, press the two red buttons located on the backrest.

Remember to keep the front wheels looking forward. Otherwise, you will have trouble folding the stroller.

Underneath the seat, there is another red button. You need to push it down and pull the handle. This will trigger the folding mechanism, and voila!

I know, I know, it all sounds complicated considering the main selling feature of the stroller is the compact fold!

However, after you practice it a couple of times, you can even do this with the baby in your arms.

Oh, and get this, you can even choose how to carry it!

For example, a shoulder strap allows you to take the stroller like a baby carrier. Or, you can carry it by hand.

You can even get the Babyzen Yoyo bag and pack it in there with the shoulder strap sticking out so you can carry it.

It's an absolute must for traveling, which leads me to my next topic.

Traveling With Babyzen Yoyo

If you considered using this stroller only for traveling, I would say do it!

Yes, the price tag is high, but nothing beats a compact stroller you can store anywhere!

For instance, you can take it on an airplane and put it in the overhead locker as cabin luggage.

It's that small! Once folded, the stroller reaches 52 x 44 x 18 cm.

However, consider that you can only store it in the overhead compartment if you are using the newborn or the 6+pack. The bassinet won't fit up there.

In addition, it fits nicely in the train overhead compartment or even under the bus seat.

As soon as you land, unfold the stroller and have it ready in no time to catch the cab! It's the best hand luggage that won't take up too much space!

I previously made the mistake of carrying a bulky stroller on our travels, thinking robust means better. This is not the case with Yoyo.

It's a great stroller you can quickly fold and not worry about the airline staff misplacing it or even damaging it.

Babyzen Yoyo Accessories

This travel stroller has one of the best customizable designs I have ever seen!

Previously, we discussed whether you could choose from one of the nine color options and style your new stroller just the way you like it.

Just wait until you hear what kind of accessories Babyzen Yoyo offers!

It's a true master in this category so let's see what you can get.

1. Rain Cover

If you live in a rainy climate, you need this accessory!

It's best to be prepared when you get caught up in the occasional rain.

We got caught up with bad weather several times during our family trip, so getting this rain cover was my best purchase!

Note that it only comes with the Babyzen Yoyo+ stroller; with the Yoyo2, it's sold separately.

The rain cover attaches to the stroller with velcro straps made from clear plastic.

However, it does not cover the canopy so it may leak slightly. So, honestly, it's only in case of emergency.

2. Footmuff

If you live in colder climates or plan to vacay there, you will need the footmuff.

It can be used with the 6+ pack, and it keeps your kiddo nice and toasty while the temperatures get low.

You can also fold in the pram with the foot cover, but it will be significantly bigger.

3. Buggy Board

babyzen yoyo2 stroller review

Source: Youtube

While my one-year-old enjoys the comfy seat in the stroller, my toddler can ride in the buggy board in the back!

It's honestly fantastic for older kiddos, especially for kids between 2-5.

However, it has a maximum weight capacity of 20 kgs, so it can get tricky to walk uphill with the board added.

Nonetheless, the travel stroller allows older siblings to ride in the back and explore the world from their very own seats!

My toddler loves to walk, but he requires rest at around 20 minutes or so, so this buggy board has been a lifesaver!

4. Leg Rest

The leg rest is terrific if you are taking long walks and want your child to be as comfortable as possible!

When you attach it to the pram, you can fold it when not in use.

It also has a cotton cover, so your child's legs are not bare plastic.

5. Insect Shield

Flying off to a tropical location with your family sure does sound like fun. But, you what doesn't? Mosquitos!

They and other tiny bugs seem to be everywhere, so your baby has sensitive skin, and you can put on any protective cream; you should get this insect shield instead.

6. Sun Cover & Parasol

These two are a lifesaver during hot and sunny days.

The canopy does the job of protecting your little one but only to an extent.

Depending on the sun's rays, you can adjust the parasol in different directions and have better protection.

But, if you wish to add more protection and full coverage, then the sun cover is the better option!

It fully covers the seat from top to bottom and leaves a mesh window so your kid can still gaze into the road ahead.

Plus, it works as a bug cover, so you don't have to purchase it separately.

7. Yoyo Bag

The Yoyo bag is going to be your best friend if you want to stock up on toys, groceries, or baby gear!

It can take up at least 22 lbs of weight which gives you enough room to fit all the necessities.

GET IT HERE

8. Travel Bag

Travel strollers often get damaged in transport.

However, that does not have to be the case with Babyzen Yoyo.

You can purchase the travel bag separately and neatly pack it in the folded stroller there.

The shoulder strap sticks out when you pack the stroller so you can carry the travel bag easily!

GET IT HERE

9. Cup Holder

Lastly, we have a well-known cup holder.

Since the stroller itself does not offer one, you will have to get it separately.

However, it comes in handy for the longer walks in the city life, so you can store your coffee cup or the kid's sippy cup and not have to bend down to reach it every time.

Car Seat Adapters

You thought that Yoyo could not get any better, did you? Well, just wait until you find it.

It's compatible with some of the most popular car seats!

The car seat compatibility is fantastic, especially since the compatible ones click on to the base in under a few seconds.

With the car seat adapter, you can combine the following car seats:

  • Maxi Cosi Pebble & Pebble Plus; Maxi-Cosi Mico (AP, 30, Max 30, Max Plus).
  • Cybex Aton & Cloud Q
  • Nuna Pipa
  • iZi Go Modular by BeSafe

Also, note that the car seat adapters are available in sizes M and L, so do your research before ordering.

Is There a Cheaper Alternative?

There sure is!

The gb Pockit+ All-Terrain is the perfect budget-friendly alternative you can use for your adventurous travels!

Of course, it does not come with all the accessories available for the Babyzen, but it's one of the smallest folds you will ever see!

It weighs only 9 pounds, and it has a collapsible design so you can fold it with one hand!

Like most travel strollers, the storage basket is pretty small; it will do you well when you are out and about.

The 2018 UPPAbaby MINU Stroller is close in terms of performance to Babyzen.

Again, the UPPAbaby Minu lacks many of the YOYO's prestigious features, but it did prove to be a good companion on travels.

It comes with a peek-a-boo window, so you can always check on your curious toddlers.

What Needs Improving?

Honestly, this is not a perfect stroller. However, it does have its flaws.

Although it's one of the best travel options and the only stroller you can safely put in the overhead airplane bin, it needs improving in a few areas.

Let's see what they are.

The handlebar is not adjustable, for starters, which can be a huge issue for both tall and short parents!

A few of my friends have tested the stroller and gave up on it as it is practically unusable if you don't fit the height.

Next, you can expect that it will get stuck on uneven terrains.

This is an issue I mentioned before, saying that in no way is this stroller suitable for rougher grounds.

The stroller seat is narrow, and some parents found that it did not support their child well.

It was almost as though a kid could slump down in the stroller if they did not fill in the space properly.

FAQs

Is the YOYO stroller worth it?

does babyzen yoyo stroller recline

Source: ubuy.com

Yes, the Yoyo stroller is worth it!

Although it classifies as high-end (celeb using it too) with its premium price range, the features and benefits it offers are priceless.

The Yoyo stroller is one of the few fully foldable and can fit in the overhead airplane bin.

So, if you plan on vacating with your baby or toddler, you cannot go wrong with Babyzen Yoyo.

How long does Babyzen YOYO stroller last?

From birth, you can use the Babyzen Yoyo stroller to weigh at least 48 pounds.

What age can baby use YOYO stroller?

The YOYO stroller can be used from birth with the fully reclined newborn nest, which can be used from 6 months.

Just swap the fabric from the 0+ newborn pack with the 6+ pack, and you will get a comfortable and reclining seat.

Some Babyzen Yoyo strollers like this one offer an upper weight limit of 40 pounds, while this model has an upper weight capacity of 48.5 pounds.

Does the Babyzen YOYO+ provide enough stability for a newborn baby?

The Babyzen Yoyo+ offers the 0+ newborn pack, transforming the traditional toddler seat into a parent-facing bassinet.

It includes a pop-up canopy, head support, and a Babyzen YOYO footmuff.

The bassinet is fully padded and allows for comfortable support and stability.

On the other hand, it is on the smaller side, so it may be a better pick for the smaller infants. It even includes a 5-point harness for extra stability.

It's easy to adjust and does not cause discomfort to the newborn.

Can you use Babyzen YOYO as a main stroller?

Although Babyzen Yoyo is designed primarily as a travel stroller, it can be used on everyday walks.

It features four all-suspension wheels with shock absorption, which work well on smooth sidewalks and city streets.

However, the Babyzen Yoyo is not the best stroller if you live in the countryside or visit rough terrain.

You may experience some wobbliness, which you want in a main everyday stroller. Plus, the storage basket is rather small for daily use.

What's the difference between Babyzen Yoyo and Yoyo+?

The Babyzen Yoyo and Yoyo+ do not differ that much.

All the accessories you would buy for the original model you can use on all other Yoyo strollers.

The only difference we noticed is the slightly better wheel suspension in the new model.

Plus, the YOYO+ includes a rain cover in the purchase, while you would have to buy it separately from other models.

Final Words

The Babyzen stroller is a terrific option if you are a traveling enthusiast waiting to make memories with your family!

As you can see, the stroller offers many accessories and customizable features so you can create your desired buggy!

With this one stroller, you can travel the world without being limited by space! It's the ultimate travel buddy your friends will envy you on!

It costs more than its similar competitor, but nothing beats an extraordinary performance and customizable design!
