About the Brand

Britax is one of the most reliable car seat manufacturers on the market. It was founded in 1939, with headquarters in Chertsey, United Kingdom. Britax offers a broad palette of car seats and baby equipment in general, but their convertibles are the most frequently bought.

Britax patented ClickTight installation system, SafeCell impact protection, and V-shaped tether, which improved the functionality and ease of use.

Britax recalled some of their products in the past, but they learned from their mistakes, so each series of car seats is better than the previous.

Design

According to Britax’s own words, what makes this travel system fantastic is the combination of a smart design and unmatched protection.

The travel system includes the B-Agile stroller and B-Safe 35 infant car seat with the base and adapters. It has a very lightweight design with a 3-wheel configuration. The stroller can be used from birth to approximately six years (55 pounds), and it weighs eighteen pounds.

On the other hand, Britax B-safe is a rear-facing infant seat with a weight capacity of 4-35 pounds. The seat weighs ten pounds, while the base weighs nine pounds. In total, this travel system weighs thirty-seven pounds, which puts it on a lighter end of the market.

Ease of Use

The main reason why parents love this travel system is the ease of use.

Namely, the system was designed for a busy parent who needs every little hack to save time and effort. It incorporates the Click & Go System that makes the transitions between the car seat and the stroller quick and effortless. Also, the Britax B-safe seat was designed with a deep, space-saving shell that almost eliminates the side-to-side movement, improving safety.

Another fantastic property is the one-hand fold system. The entire stroller folds down in a minute, saving up space and helping you pack more effectively when traveling.

On the other hand, when you’re going for a stroll, pack everything you need in a massive storage basket, and enjoy your time out. You won’t even get annoyed on turns and corners because the swivel front wheel functions smoothly. And when the time for adjustments comes, a no-rethread harness works in your favor.

Safety

When it comes to safety features, the car seat design is crucial.

Britax B-safe is a rigorously tested, federally approved infant car seat. The entire shell is energy-absorbing, thus protecting your baby’s head and torso. In addition to this, Britax’s patented SafeCell technology also absorbs the energy in crashes moving the forces away from your baby.

Now, the reason why infant car seats are usually heavier than convertibles is the additional cushions and adaptors that help you position your newborn comfortably. This travel system has an adjustable five-point harness system, so your baby will be perfectly safe while the cushions support the neck and head.

When it comes to the stroller’s safety features, it includes a parking brake that stops the rear wheels immediately, preventing injuries. Also, it comes with a large canopy that protects your baby from the sun and elements. This canopy is well ventilated and includes a ‘window’ to keep your baby cool and allow air circulation.

Comfort and Convenience

As I said initially, this is a perfect stroller for busy parents who are often multitasking and need a functional device to assist them.

You’ll love this stroller for its lightweight design. Namely, the stroller has aluminum construction which is just as sturdy but lighter than steel. If you used to have a stroller with a steel frame, you’ll notice the difference when you first go for a stroll with the Britax Travel System.

Next off, the three-wheel system made maneuverability notably easier and smoother. Plus, with infinite-recline technology, you can find the perfect fit, let your baby fall asleep, and drive it around smoothly.

Thanks to the all-wheel suspension, your baby won’t feel the bumpy road or feel like a potato in the back of a truck. Everything is optimized for the maximum convenience and comfort of your child.

Recall

You might have heard that Britax issued recalls for this travel system, but you’re not sure what it all was about.

First of all, let me assure you there’s nothing to worry about.

Britax indeed issued recalls for this travel system in 2017 and offered customers free repair kits. Namely, the problem was a damaged receiver mount which caused the car seat to fall suddenly when attached to the stroller. However, all the customers who called their customer service and got repair kits managed to fix the problem and continue to use the stroller safely.

And, these faulty travel systems are no longer sold. The version you can buy now is entirely safe and upgraded to prevent these things from happening.

Recalls are not that uncommon, and they don’t mean the company creates faulty car seats; on the contrary, they imply an honest mistake happened, and the brand is ready to fix it.

Britax B-Safe Overview

As you could see, the stroller is very functional and easy to use, but what about the seat?

Britax B-Safe is one of the most frequently bought infant car seats. It’s exquisitely optimized and advanced to provide everything your child needs. The LATCH system secures easy installation and accurate positioning. Once you install the seat, check the level indicators to make sure you got the angle right, and then tighten everything.

Unlike other infant car seats, Britax B-Safe has built-in lock-offs to ensure a safe and snug installation with a seat belt, as well. It’s federally-approved and tested, so safety shouldn’t be one of your concerns.

I don’t like that it includes one layer of side-impact protection only, unlike Britax B-Safe Ultra and Endeavors, but it’s still incredibly safe.

Disadvantages

Many parents expressed their dissatisfaction caused by the lack of the footrest. Namely, the earlier versions of this stroller included a footrest, while the latest doesn’t.

According to parents, this can be inconvenient for your child as he/she grows because the legs will dangle almost to the ground.
