2022 Battle of the Brands: UPPAbaby Vista Vs Nuna Demi Grow

Ever since the Nuna Demi Grow stroller was initially released in 2019, I have been eager to compare it to another one of my favorites!

Those who have been on my blog for quite some time now know my love and admiration for the UPPAbaby Vista.

However, I could not help but hear a few whispers the other day at Target.

Moms debated whether the new Nuna Demi Grow was just as worthy as the UPPAbaby Vista or if they should save their money.

Well, this review comparison could not have come at a better time for all moms who have been wondering the same thing!

Especially now that Nuna is releasing a new convertible stroller in May 2022!

So, before you check the newly released version, take a look at the close comparison of the two world's most popular strollers!

Also, you should use the UPPAbaby toddler seat no sooner than three months.

2. Color options

If you are a fashionable parent, I bet you would prefer to have more color options to choose from. In this case, you would like the UPPAbaby Vista V2 more than the Nuna Demi Grow.

With the UPPAbaby Vista V2, you can choose from one of the nine options available!

Unfortunately, the Nuna Demi Grow only offers three color choices. However, their strollers come with a sleek black frame and a luxurious leatherette carry bar.

3. Weight of the stroller & dimensions

I have to disappoint you that neither of these double stroller models is lightweight.

While the UPPAbaby Vista v2 weighs around 26.6 pounds, the Nuna Demi Grow weighs 27.4 pounds!

However, you would have to consider that the Nuna weight is without a canopy, winter car seat, armbar, and a total storage basket!

Nuna Demi Grow vs. UPPAbaby Vista: Which One Is More Cost Effective?

Sources: nunababy.com

The Nuna Demi grow to reputation as an expensive car seat and stroller brand. However, this is only partially true.

While the Nuna sticks to its high-end price, they also deliver extreme quality.

For instance, you can get the Nuna Demi Grow stroller for less than $800. Seems like too much?

Let's see what is included with this price.

Nuna offers two car seat adapters, a rain cover, fenders, and a single stroller.

If you want to use the Nuna Demi Grow from birth, you have an option to purchase the bassinet separately for under $200.

But what happens if you have twins? Does that mean you have to purchase a different stroller?

Not at all!

Nuna can be one of the best convertible strollers that offer you the chance to get a second seat for less than $200.

But I also have to give an extra point to UPPAbaby because they give you these double configurations as well!

The UPPAbaby Vista V2 is a slightly more expensive stroller, retailing for less than $1,000. You will be getting a single stroller, rain cover, insert cover, and a bassinet for this pricey tag!

Noticeably, the UPPAbaby Vista V2 can be used right from birth without additional purchases.

So, which one is a better choice for you? It all depends on whether you will be using a bassinet or not. If you will, then the UPPAbaby is a much cheaper alternative.

Double Configurations

These single strollers quickly turn into a double!

Both Nuna Demi Grow and the UPPAbaby Vista stroller can take up to two seats, two bassinets, and two toddler seats your two kids will enjoy!

Additionally, both strollers offer more configurations than their competitors! Twenty-two, to be more exact!

Having this in mind, I still have my favorite for Nuna Demi Grow vs. UPPAbaby Vista V2 battle.

The UPPAbaby Vista V2 allows you to have more space for growing kiddo. You can get the other piggyback board for Vista v2.

It's effortless to install on the double stroller, and your older child can ride between you and the stroller seat.

Flip it over when you are not using the PiggyBack Ride-Along board! Unfortunately, the Nuna Demi Grow stroller does not accommodate this feature.

You need to know that Nuna Demi Grow offers the adapters for the car seat's configurations for free! With UPPAbaby, you have to purchase additional adapters.

Take a look at the lower position adapters and the high position adapters.

Double the Fun With a Double Seat

Although the UPPAbaby Vista V2 offers more accommodations for a third child, the Nuna Demi Grow is more compact and has a more significant weight limit for the second seat.

With the UPPAbaby vista V2 rumble seat, you will be getting the maximum weight capacity of 35 pounds, while the Nuna Demi Grow can support kiddies up to 50 pounds!

Additionally, the Nuna Demi Grow second seat is adequate for taller babies.

Now that you know the clear winner of weight capacity let's talk about which of the second seats is more practical.

The UPPAbaby Vista V2 second seat will have to be installed in the front, making accessibility a great benefit! The front seat of the stroller can be set either forward-facing or rear-facing.

The Nuna Demi Grow is quite different in this aspect. The second seat is installed behind the main seat. This allows the older kiddo to use the stroller on their own independently. However, it does limit the storage basket space by a lot!

However, the lower position seat can only be positioned to face forward.

Considering the comfort, I would have to give the Nuna Demi Grow a winning point!

With the all-season seat, moms do not need to be worried about the hot summer days or the freezing winters!

The seat's fabric can snap right off, and your baby can enjoy the mesh backing for ultimate summer comfort.

How Maneuverable Are Both Strollers?

One of my biggest concerns about the double stroller is how maneuverable it can be?

But, of course, you all know that these things are not the world's lightweight items and are a challenge to push around with two kids.

But, these fantastic strollers both feature foam-filled tires and a small wheel diameter that makes maneuverability a breeze for a single parent!

The UPPAbaby Vista V2 should offer a smoother ride based on measurement specifications. All in all, you cannot go wrong with either of the strollers in this case.

Now, in terms of easier use for urban moms of two kids and more, I prefer the UPPAbaby Vista V2. The double stroller offers a standing fold with car seats attached and a piggy board!

On the other hand, Nuna Demi Grow can be folded compactly, but you would need to remove the second seat from the stroller frame.

If you often take public transport or travel a lot, the UPPAbaby Vista V2 is an unmistakable choice!

The two comparable strollers are of similar dimensions when folded, and there are not many notable differences when it comes to lightweight design.

Car Seat Compatibility

When it comes to UPPababy Vista vs. Nuna Demi Grow car seat compatibility, I have to say that both strollers are fantastic!

The Nuna Demi Grow strollers are compatible with all of the Nuna car seats in this department, with the ring adapter included in the purchase.

As for the UPPAbaby Vista V2 stroller, it's compatible with the UPPAbaby Mesa car seat with no adapter.

You will need to get the adapter which is sold separately for the following car seats:

- Chicco Key Fit

- Chicco Key Fit 30

- Chicco KeyFit 30 Zip Air

- Chicco KeyFit Zip

- Chicco KeyFit 30 Magic

- Cybex Aton (2, Q, and Cloud Q)

- Maxi-Cosi (Micro, Micro AP, Mico NXT, Micro Max 30, Citi, Cabrio, and Cabrio Fix)

- Peg Perego Primo Viaggio

For many parents, using car seats from other favorite brands is fantastic.

But remember that with Nuna, you don't have to purchase car seat adapters, and it's a bigger bonus if you already own one of their car seats.

Basket Space

Sources: nunababy.com

The apparent winner in this category is the UPPAbaby Vista v2. Let me break it down.

As a city mom, I value my storage basket in the stroller seat more than anything else! Nothing beats a spacious basket that takes off the extra weight on your back.

The UPPAbaby Vista v2 stroller offers a 30-pound basket space that even tall parents can easily access. However, with Nuna Demi growing, you will only get a 10-pound storage basket.

But, this capacity decreases, even more, considering that the basket is no longer in your service when you add the second seat in the Nuna!

Car Seat Comfort

When it comes to the overall comfort of the car seat in the stroller, Nuna takes one for the team!

It features an all-season seat, similar to most of Nuna's models. You can remove the backing of the seat, which will reveal a mesh material. This allows for better airflow and circulation for those hot summer walks.

The insert is machine-washable and easily maintained in the long run.

The UPPAbaby Vista v2 does not offer this feature, although the insert is machine washable.

Nuna Demi Grow vs UPPAbaby Vista: Disadvantages

It can often be hard to pick a winner when it comes to this stroller comparison.

For this reason, let's see some of the disadvantages of each model, starting with Nuna first.

The Nuna Demi Grow offers a limited storage area, which is a significant disadvantage for city moms!

If you add another car seat, you practically lose the chance to put away anything in the basket.

The Nuna stroller is a bit larger and heavier for that fact than Vista is. Also, it does not offer the ride-along option for the older kiddo.

Plus, the seat in the lower position can only be set to face forward.

Moms of a toddler will probably want to pick the UPPAbaby Vista in this case.

Additionally, the seat compatibility is limited with the Nuna as it is only compatible with other Nuna models.

As for the UPPAbaby Vista stroller, the rumble seat is not designed for heavier kiddies. But, it only has an overall weight limit of 35 pounds, limiting its use for only a few months.

The bassinet can only be installed in the lower position when the UPPAbaby Vista stroller is set in the double mode.

Additionally, the UPPAbaby Vista is much pricier compared to the Demi Grow.

FAQs

Is Nuna Demi Grow too heavy?

The Nuna Demi Grow is a relatively heavier stroller weighing 27 pounds.

However, the overall weight does not count in the additional weight of the storage bag, armrest, canopy, and winter seat.

Nonetheless, the Nuna stroller is still highly maneuverable and has compact dimensions when folded.

Moreover, the stroller is suitable for city walks due to its pneumatic front wheels!

Can Nuna Demi Grow be used for newborns?

Yes, Nuna Demi Grow offers a bassinet that can be used for newborns and infants.

You can use the Nuna Demi Grow from infancy to toddlerhood as the stroller seat is designed to grow with your kiddo.

Parents will usually use the separately purchased bassinet or the infant seat in the Nuna Demi stroller.

However, when the baby can sit up without extra support, you should switch to a regular toddler seat.

Now, the most special feature parents of twins find beneficial is that Nuna can quickly turn into a double stroller.

Furthermore, it works with two infant seats, two bassinets, and two toddler seats.

What is the difference between Nuna and UPPAbaby?

Sources: uppababy.com

There are a few noticeable differences when it comes to the ultimate battle of UPPAbaby Vista v2 vs. Nuna Demi Grow stroller comparison.

For instance, although UPPAbaby is significantly pricier, it does include a bassinet and a rain cover.

On the other hand, Nuna will require separate purchases for these items, but it comes to include car seat adapters.

Both of the strollers share single and double configurations.

One of the biggest differences in this stroller comparison is the basket size. If you are a city parent of two, you will prefer the 30-pound basket of the UPPAbaby stroller.

The Nuna Demi Grow stroller has only a 10-pound basket which loses accessibility with the addition of the second seat.

What car seats are compatible with Nuna Demi Grow?

The Nuna Demi Grow line car seats are compatible with the Nuna Demi Grow stroller. This includes Nuna Pipa, Nuna Pipa RX, Lite, Lite R, Lite RX, Lite LX.

You will not need to buy an additional adapter with these car seats.

What bassinets are compatible with Nuna Demi Grow?

Nuna Demi Grow stroller is designed to be compatible with bassinets and car seats of its model line.

For instance, the Nuna Mixx bassinet is not compatible with the Demi Grow, but Nuna Demi Grow Stroller Bassinet from the 2021 line is!

Can you use Nuna bassinet with Uppababy Vista?

Since all of the Nuna car seats are compatible with the UPPAbaby Vista stroller with the adapter, you could attach a bassinet in the same way.

However, we advise you to contact the manufacturer for this information.

Is Nuna Pipa compatible with UPPAbaby Vista?

Yes, the Nuna Pipa infant car seat is compatible with UPPAbaby Vista V2.

You will need to purchase a separate car seat adapter for this installation or use the Nuna ring adapter.

The car seat will easily click on the stroller with the adapter and offer a secure installation.

Final Verdict

Finally, we have reached the end part of the stroller comparison! I hope you enjoyed my detailed review, including both pros and cons of each stroller brand.

However, as you all expect me to choose the best one, let's get straight to the point.

Since both of the strollers are relatively similar, I would have to favor the UPPAbaby Vista slightly more.

Considering it has better seat compatibility, this will allow you to use it with other car seat brands. Additionally, it offers a smoother ride, thanks to the slightly larger wheels.

If you are a city mom like me, you will also want to opt for the Vista model due to the large basket capacity!

It allows you to store extra diapers, a bag, change of clothes, bottles, and even sneak in your tote!

Nothing beats a double stroller that performs like a dream on the sidewalk and the rough terrain! I would stick to the UPPAbaby Vista compared to the other strollers of a similar price range.
